The bike rally, which celebrates James Joyce’s Ulysses and Dublin “in the rare old times” took place on 10th June and saw over 150 cyclists take to the streets of Dublin on messenger bikes, Joycean straw boaters hats and aprons, to help raise much needed funds for the Irish Youth Foundation. In the many years it’s been running the annual event has raised over €800,000 for community and voluntary groups throughout the country, who work to create positive differences in the lives of children and young people facing adversity. The success of the event is founded on the generosity of Irish businesses and individuals, and despite the tough economic conditions many continue to support the day.
